Iconoclast searching for a wedge
Some questions from local blog, the Iconoclast, and my answers...
I post these here for all to see because the Iconoclast has a history of misappropriating facts. In an effort to discredit me during the campaign, they accused me of making ad hominem attacks against fellow aldermen when I called them out for shirking their responsibilities by threatening a budget boycott. Not willing to let them twist my words by omission or rearrangement so easily for a second time, I post the answers here.
Iconoclast: Do you think you will be able to work with Mayor Jordan after having taken such a strong position against him, his record, his platform, and his ability to work with the council?
Yes. My agenda hasn't changed and I'm interested in moving forward and getting results, not holding onto past disappointments.
Iconoclast: Do you think your opposition will make it more difficult to accomplish your goals?
No. My ideas stand on their own and they align well with many of Lioneld's stated goals. I don't think he is interested in obstructing progress. We meet to talk this week.
Iconoclast: What ordinances do you plan to introduce next year?
Cosponsoring one with Sarah Lewis to hold an annual orientation and retreat to develop a broad agenda. An energy efficiency package that addresses financing mechanisms for both affluent and low-income neighborhoods. An orientation workshop for developers on the upcoming zoning ordinance and the 2025 Plan. A technology package for open government.
