Fayetteville Forward got Twitterized
Cut the crap: look at our cell phone pictures or read everything we had to say.
There was so much Twitter activity at Fayetteville Forward, one citizen said "It feels like I'm actually AT #fayfwd, " and John Nock, a local developer, even commented he was using Twitter to follow the activities. Around 10 people were using Twitter to post pictures and quick commentary on the summit as it unfolded. Personally, I found it appropriate that a community summit was being covered by community media.
This kind of coverage starts to show the value of social media like Twitter and its integration with democracy.
Posters included• Brent Robinson, a business planner with the Springline Group• Todd Gill and Dustin Bartholomew from the Fayetteville Flyer and Local540• Greg Leding, former campaign manager for Walt Eilers• Mervin Jebaraj, economist at the UA
I have to give special props to Skip Descant, of the Morning News. His tweets were pretty insightful, and they gave me a good reason to check the Morning News this morning.
Everyone contributed something to the Twitter feed, and you can view a gallery of our pictures or read everything we had to say. I think it's interested to see coverage coming from people who are so close to local politics.
