UPDATE: Unfortunately, I received incomplete information during my meeting with our City Attorney in December. Yesterday, the Assistant City Attorney (our regular City Attorney is out sick), informed me that because this permit is already in process, the Council has no legal grounds to deny it. Any action the Council took could only affect future permits. So I'm dropping opposition to this event.Read more of this post.

There are two newspapers in my town, the Morning News and the Democrat-Gazette (aka the NWA Times). There's a merger though, and many are worried that the switch to a one-newspaper town will be a blow to our democratic process, but I think moving to a one newspaper town is actually going to be good for our community.Read more of this post.

They’re just not sure where they’ll do it yet.Read more of this post.

This is a diagram of how the new WAC theatres might be laid out. It's from a study commissioned to help plan the future of the Center.

When will Fayetteville get more bike lanes to connect the existing trails?
Right now, the city budget includes $1.3M for
building trails. It's not the only source of funding; when voters passed the bond issue a few years ago, they devoted $2.4M in bond money to trails, to be paid out in three payments every three years.
